Customer Reviews:
3 out of 5 stars Meh...Better stories than strategy   September 30, 2006
A. Gibson
5 out of 6 found this review helpful

While this book is an entertaining read the poker strategy is lacking, if you want some entertaining stories and telling you to play super-tight then this book is good for you. However, far superior strategy material will be found elsewhere. This book contains a lot of level 1 thinking, when you have xx hand do this. While it recognizes position slightly it doesn't properly discuss many other important factors involved in the hand, such as number of people at the table, stack sizes, blind levels, your opposition, etc.

While the authors are very successful players, it is seldom the case that the best players are the best teachers, this is certainly the case with this book. It is definitely sold off the authors names rather than the the quality of the material. The stories are pretty good and playing super-tight is sound advice for inexperienced players. I enjoyed reading it but I certainly won't bother reading it again.
