Customer Reviews: Essential for full-ring limit playersOctober 30, 2008 D. S. Michaels This book is essential for full ring limit hold 'em players and useful for short handed limit players. There are no charts showing what starting hands to play and when but discusses how to play you're draws - considering you will only hit the flop one-third of the time you will be drawing the rest of the time. It discusses when to carry on and when to fold based on number of outs (there are 3 chapters on calculating your "true" outs and how to use this info), number of players, type of players, size of the pot and PROJECTED size of the pot. If you're current train of thought is "I have six out and I don't have pot odds then I should fold." then this will put a whole new spin on how you play your draws and fully demonstrates the scientific nature of limit hold 'em over the feel and art of no limit hold 'em. Even the "to be avoided" inside straight draw is demonstrated as a good draw if the projected pot size is in your favour.
If you thought "how can this subject be stretched to a whole book" then think again - this book will open your eyes to how to play your draws effectively for every given situation.
Be warned - this is not a beginner "how to play" book as it does contain a fair amount of maths and assumes you know what pot odds, outs and implied odds are.
An essential book to add to the collection of any limit player.
